1ST - 3RD MAY 2004 - CLANFIELD VISIT VAL d’OISON
May 1st saw a group of nearly 30 Twinners board the coach to cross the channel for our biennial visit to our French friends. More of our members had made their own way to Normandy and we spent the day with our hosts. The evening was spent at the Salles des Fetes at Tourville for one of Val d’Oison’s acclaimed soirees, although this one finished earlier than usual as we were meeting quite early on the Sunday morning for a trip to Paris. This was one of the most enjoyable days we have spent in France and the coach driver, Daniel, the same driver who brought them all to England for the charter signing ceremony, managed to take his 70 seater bus right up to, and in many cases, right around lots of the tourist sights in Paris. We also had an hour’s trip on a Bateau-Mouche up the Seine. After lunch we went to Montmartre amongst all the artists and were able to visit Sacre Coeur before returning to our hosts for the evening. We spent Monday morning with our hosts before meeting up with everyone for lunch.
Comments were made: “The best visit yet. Paris was a very special day - we crammed so much in and it was efficiently organised.”
“Very difficult to top it. Brilliant “
