Annual Dinner
A happy and successful event to start Colin’s reign in the Chair!! Congratulations to him and the whole Committee for their contributions to planning, etc.
The site, setting, service and quality of food could hardly have been better. 32 members and 6 guests attended; all smartly dressed, and this somehow reflected the ambience, and the general “belief in” the Association. One of the members had only joined that evening.
We were assembled in the Chimes restaurant at Highbury College, Winston Churchill Avenue, Portsmouth. This is a single room at ground floor level; very easy to access. No other group had hired them that evening, so we were able to chat and mix freely, set around 4 tables for 10.
Whilst it was good to note that all 4 of our Chairs over the years were there, so too were the entire team of people who had formed the liaison group who had approached the Parish Council to seek their wish as to whether or not they would like us to twin.
